mustang rear end rebuild

Wound up rebuilding my Mustang rear end. 1 st I put new axle bearings in because it was making noises. 2nd I put in the relocation bearings, still made noise. 3rd bought a rebuild kit and some 3;73 gears. Then I bought 2 of the same timkin bearings for the pinion, watch Eric the car guy, Ground the i.d. of 1 bearing open so it slides on the pinion, set the gear up for the mesh and the preload. Got it all set. Took the good timkin bearing put in the oven at 350 for 20 minutes. still a light tap fit. Lots better and quite now.Found a bad rt bearing on the differential.

I need to learn how to set a R&P. I am confident in everything about the process, BUT that.

I dont have a lift so I pulled the rear end out and set it on some jack stands, I think I got around 6 hours setting it up. Then more hours putting the other bearing on the pinion and reassembly. I called a shop and they wanted $1100.00 to do it.
