General Rules
Please refrain from Commercialism - we do not accept advertisements in our Discussion Forums - if you have a product or service to sell, use the "Buy - Sell - Trade" section, or contact us to discuss sponsoring the site. When using the Buy - Sell - Trade forum, please limit your post to one per item or items you are selling. We strongly discourage members from using multiple posts or cross linking from other forums to increase their visibility and will delete the post accordingly.

Recommending/reviewing products, is of course OK and encouraged. Please include the URL for the vendor if appropriate, as opposed to reprinting their entire ad here on the site. Please use extreme caution in expressing negative opinions. Limit remarks about "bad" products or services to verifiable FACTS. Label your opinions as opinions. Sites like this have been sued by jilted manufacturers, dealers, and others, and, whether right or wrong, it is always at huge legal expense.

Respect
Please remember that when you can't "read someone's face", you can't tell whether an off-color joke is funny or offensive to them. For that reason, please avoid racist remarks, vulgarity, inclusion of any pornographic images or links, etc. We all enjoy a good joke - but we need to err on the side of political correctness in this forum.

We invite and encourage a healthy exchange of opinions; disagreements are okay. If you disagree with a member's post or opinion, by all means, challenge the opinion. However, any challenge must be given with a sense of respect and caring for the other person. The real objective of community is to understand each other, not to attack others and convince them that you're right. Name-calling, insults, "flaming" and attacks are not appropriate and will not be tolerated. Agree to disagree respectfully.

Personal attacks on others will not be tolerated. Challenge others' points of view and opinions, but do so respectfully and thoughtfully without insult and personal attacks. Harassing, offensive, vulgar, abusive, hateful or bashing communications especially those aimed at sexual orientation, gender, race, color, religious views, national origin, or disability will not be permitted. Before you post a message that is intended to embarrass, humiliate or harass another person or group of people, stop and think first! Harassing communications are considered to be those that may cause distress, embarrassment, unwanted attention or other discomfort. It will not be tolerated!

Moderators
The moderators have the right to edit or delete offensive posts at their discretion. The good news is that we have rarely needed to use this right. If we think you're walking on thin ice we'll let you know privately. If you persist, we have the right to ban you from posting on the board.

Off-Site Linking
You are welcome to post links to other sites as long as they are intended for informational purposes within a thread. This does not include the User's signature area (please refer to signature guidelines below). Posting links to competitive sites, advertisements, product announcements/endorsements, pornographic or any illegal materials in Posts or Private Messages are strictly prohibited. We also do not allow posting of links to paid events or sites that require registration prior to viewing. We reserve the right to edit or delete any related threads at our discretion.

We do not tolerate SPAMMING: Members who join our forum with the intent of spamming and/or promoting any third party site will have their account terminated without warning.

Threadiquette
Keep Threads on Topic, sometimes threads have a tendency to wander off topic - or a discussion ensues between two members. Consider whether the discussion is appropriate for both the thread and the general membership. If it isn't, consider starting a new thread for that topic, or use our chatroom for 1-to-1 discussions.

Limit Images in Number and Size. We have many members who access this board over a dial-up line as opposed to cable, DSL or other high-speed access. Many members have 800x600 displays. Please limit the number of images in a post to 15, and limit image width to 800 pixels. If you have more images, great - just publish the URLs of the images, or the URL of the site where they are hosted.

Don't Quote an Entire Post - Please do not use the "quote" button to reply unless you are referring to something specifically in the post you are quoting. Use the "reply" button instead. If you do quote a post, please remove from the quoted portion everything but the specific sentence or statement to which you are responding. Please remove any IMG tags - we don't need to see the picture(s) again. This makes posts faster to load and more readable.

Thread Naming Remember that some people only come here once in a while. Some people are here for the first time. Please name threads so that they in fact have something to do with their content.

Off Topic ("OT") Threads Off Topic threads are tolerated as long as they are of general interest - i.e., about "car guy" kinds of issues - F1 races, competitive cars, etc. Our goal is to maintain a healthy ratio of "on-topic" threads to off-topic ones. Remember, newcomers may be turned off if it appears we aren't first and foremost concerned with our Fusion. The moderators reserve the right to move threads to the "Off Topic" forum, and members are free to initiate off-topic threads there. When posting anywhere other than the Off Topic forum, please prepend "OT:" to the thread title so that others know it isn't relevant.

Please Use the Search Feature Especially if you're new, you may not know that the question you want to ask has been discussed to death and there is a wealth of information already in the forum archives. Please try searching - just once or twice. If you can't find what you want, go ahead and post your question - we'll answer it again or point you to an appropriate older thread.

Banning/Account Suspension "Two Strikes Rule"
Unless otherwise stated, most members are allowed "Two Strikes" before their account is suspended. This only includes minor offenses such as (Swearing, Explicit Imagery, Unintentional Spamming, Personal Attacks or Bypassing the Swear Filters). First time suspended individuals can opt to have their account reconsidered for reversal. At which time they are required to submit a brief paragraph explaining the full details of the situation and their reason for appealing the suspension. A moderator panel will then deal with each appeal on a case-by-case basis. Should their account be approved for reversal, an email will then be sent notifying the individual. To submit an appeal, please visit our Contact Us page for specific email addresses.
